Police on lookout for man who flashed woman and baby in south St. Louis

"That's just sickening and upsetting what he's doing. He will stand out and I hope police catch him," said one neighbor.

ST. LOUIS —  It looked like just another day near the busy intersection of Chippewa Street and south Grand Boulevard in south St. Louis.

5 On Your Side saw plenty of people strolling, waiting on buses, and just outside enjoying the nice day.

However, our crew then met Wayne Wilkinson, who knows what else is buzzing around his neighborhood and on social media.

"So many people are talking about it. They're saying, 'Can you believe it? There's some guy out there. He's showing himself,'" Wilkinson said.

St. Louis police haven't said how many, but they confirm they received calls about a man "exposing himself and engaging in indecent behavior."

One caller told police on Monday the stranger flashed himself in front of his wife and baby.

A woman also reported a man committed a similar unseemly act right before her eyes.

"I mean, it's upsetting," said neighbor, Jill Hill.

What's more, the victims told police the man had red hair and wore a yellow dress at the time. Right now, that's the only description police have of the wanted flasher.

"You know people are just being really startled about that, but nothing surprises me anymore," Wilkinson said.

Officers searched the area, but so far there has been no sign of him.

Meantime, Hill, an avid walker, is watching her back.

"I just want to remind people to always be aware of their surroundings. I do and I carry a weapon to protect myself. I think if we see that guy, we will be able to spot him," Hill said.

"And eventually he'll get caught because he stands out," Wilkinson said.

St. Louis police ask anyone in that area to immediately call 911 if they see the man.
