BISMARCK, Mo. — A police officer shot and killed a man during an investigation in Bismarck, Missouri. the Missouri Share Highway Patrol said.
The patrol's division of drug and crime control responded to the scene near the intersections of Bloom and Spruce streets Tuesday evening, troopers said.
Officers from the Bismarck Police Department initially responded to the scene after reports of a disturbance in a nearby residence. There, the officers reportedly saw a man, identified as 21-year-old Kalob Watts, with a handgun.
A Bismarck police officer fired his gun and hit Watts, investigators said. Watts was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Troopers are investigating the use of force by the Bismarck officer, as requested by the city's police department.
