ST. LOUIS — The United States National Park Service is investigating after a sexual assault was reported in the Gateway Arch National Park.
The U.S. National Park Service said in a statement that park rangers received a report on Dec. 6 of a sexual assault that happened on the grounds of the Gateway Arch. A spokesperson for the Gateway Arch declined to say what time the incident happened. Rangers and agents with the NPS' Investigative Branch immediately launched an ongoing investigation.
Law enforcement did not release any further information about possible suspect(s).
A Metro Transit spokesperson said in a statement that its surveillance cameras captured images of the incident, which were shared with investigators.
There is no further information to provide regarding the incident at this time.
