ST. LOUIS — A man was shot and killed Monday night in south St. Louis, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers found a man who had been shot multiple times just before 10 p.m. Monday inside a home in the 5500 block of Louisiana Avenue, located in the city's Carondelet neighborhood.
The man, later identified as 37-year-old Sammie Lewis Jr. of St. Louis, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Homicide Division assumed the ongoing investigation.
According to 5 On Your Side data, this was the city's 67th homicide of 2024.
