Man fatally shot Monday night near St. Louis' Carr Square

The shooting happened in the parking lot of the Mobil gas station at 1515 North 13th St.

ST. LOUIS — A man was shot and killed Monday night near St. Louis' Carr Square.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened at about 8 p.m. Monday in the parking lot of the Mobil gas station at 1515 North 13th St.

Police said a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen was taken to an area hospital for treatment. He later died at the hospital.

The Homicide Division assumed the ongoing investigation.

As of Tuesday morning, police had not shared the victim's identity, what led up to the shooting or whether any arrests had been made.

The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) is a community-based clinic in St. Louis that helps people heal after they have been injured by a bullet. The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged from the emergency department after being shot.
