Man shot, killed early Wednesday in north St. Louis parking lot

The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of a White Castle in Old North St. Louis.

ST. LOUIS — One person died after being shot early Wednesday morning in north St. Louis.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded at about 2 a.m. Wednesday to a shooting in the parking lot of the White Castle at 2009 Hebert St., located in the city's Old North St. Louis neighborhood.

There, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the driver's seat of a parked vehicle. He was later pronounced dead, police said.

At the scene, 5 On Your Side saw a car with its driver's side window shot out and shattered glass on its passenger side.

The Homicide Division assumed the ongoing investigation.

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis has the Neighborhood Healing Network, which serves people who have experienced crime, violence or been the victim of an incident that caused trauma.

The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) is a community-based clinic in St. Louis that helps people heal after they have been injured by a bullet. The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged from the emergency department after being shot.
