Teen shot early Thursday in north St. Louis

Preliminary investigation revealed the teen was shot during an altercation between his parents and several unknown subjects.

ST. LOUIS — A teenager was hospitalized early Thursday after being shot in north St. Louis.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened just before 12:30 a.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of Riverview Boulevard in the city's Baden neighborhood. A 15-year-old boy was found on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his side, and he was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

As of Thursday morning, police said the boy was in "stable condition."

Preliminary investigation revealed the teen was shot during an altercation between his parents and several unknown subjects. Police described the shooting suspect as a muscular 40- to 45-year-old man wearing black pants and a blue shirt.

The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) is a community-based clinic in St. Louis that helps people heal after they have been injured by a bullet. The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged from the emergency department after being shot.
