18-year-old shot, killed Sunday afternoon in north St. Louis County

Police said the 18-year-old suffered a life-threatening gunshot injury and was pronounced dead at the scene.

JENNINGS, Mo. — A man was shot and killed Sunday afternoon in north St. Louis County.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department, officers from the City of Jennings precinct responded at about 3:20 p.m. Sunday to a shooting in the 9400 block of Auburn Drive. Martinez Ursery Jr., 18, suffered a bullet-related injury and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the St. Louis County Police Department's Bureau of Crimes Against Persons assumed the ongoing investigation, police said.

As of Monday morning, police had not shared what led up to the shooting or whether any arrests had been made.

The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) is a community-based clinic in St. Louis that helps people heal after they have been injured by a bullet. The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged from the emergency department after being shot.
