ST. LOUIS — Two shooting victims ended up at a casino in downtown St. Louis Thursday evening after they were shot blocks away.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said responding officers found the two men at about 5:45 p.m. in the 900 block of N. 2nd Street, in the area of the Horseshoe St. Louis casino.
Both men were conscious and breathing at the scene; no further details on their conditions were provided.
Police believe the shooting occurred four blocks north of the casino, near the intersection of Collins Street and Cass Avenue. Officers at that scene put down several evidence markers in the street, walked the grounds with flashlights and talked to people inside a nearby apartment building.
Several police vehicles were parked at the carport entrance of the casino, and a 5 On Your Side crew spotted police investigating a black Chevrolet Malibu in the back parking lot that had a shattered rear window and a flattened rear tire.
Police have not said anything about suspects or a motive for the double shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department of Crime Stoppers at 866-371-TIPS(8477).
