15-year-old charged for firing shots at St. Louis County officer

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A St. Louis County police officer had to take cover after being shot at Thursday afternoon in Glasgow Village, police said.

The St. Louis County Police Department said the incident happened at about 4:59 p.m. near the intersection of Roderick Drive and Mc Alpine Drive. A North County Precinct officer was on foot near the intersection when shots were fired in his direction.

The officer took cover. wasn't struck and did not return fire.

A 15-year-old boy was taken into custody and charged with first-degree assault on a special victim and resisting/interfering with an arrest, stop or detention, according to county police.

The St. Louis County Police Department's Crimes Against Persons detectives are investigating the incident as an assault on a law enforcement officer.
