5 On Your Side staff heard about a dozen shots fired at about 7 a.m. near the Stadium West parking garage.

ST. LOUIS — Several gunshots were fired Monday morning in downtown St. Louis near Busch Stadium, and police believe they seized the vehicle of the person involved.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said the suspect in the shots-fired incident is a minor and is currently being held in Illinois on unrelated charges. The vehicle is reportedly connected to a carjacking along Minnesota Avenue at 5:30 a.m.

The general manager of the parking garage told 5 On Your Side that gunfire had hit the Live by Loews Hotel, striking some of its windows.

Police confirmed there were reports of shots fired and said no physical injuries were reported. Shell casings were found on the ground at Clark Avenue and 8th Street, between Busch Stadium and Stadium West.
