ST. LOUIS — A man was charged and arrested after a detective patrolling a St. Louis neighborhood was shot at Saturday night, police say.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, detectives with the Anti-Crime Task Force were patrolling around 7 p.m. in the 1900 block of Palm Street in the Old North neighborhood when a suspect fired multiple shots at them. The detectives were in unmarked police vehicles at the time.
Police said a round hit a detective's front windshield and entered the passenger compartment of the vehicle. No detectives were injured.
Other detectives were able to arrest the suspect after they watched him attempt to discard a weapon, St. Louis police said.
Terion Young, 27, was charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Young also allegedly had suspected narcotics at the time of his arrest, police said.
An investigation is ongoing.
