ST CHARLES, Mo. — Two people were taken into custody after a SWAT team situation at a home in St. Charles, the city's police department told 5 On Your Side at the scene.
Officers were serving a felony warrant for stealing on Wednesday at a home on Expedition Trail Court at around 11:28 a.m. when the situation began, the department said.
The two people, identified by police as a 41-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, barricaded themselves inside the home, police said. SWAT was called due to the man's alleged violent criminal history and his previous handling of firearms.
The two were taken into custody after negotiations concluded at 3 p.m.
The department is working with the prosecuting attorney's office regarding potential additional criminal charges.
