The Mustang was stolen at gunpoint in the 900 block of S Grand Boulevard— the portion of S Grand north of Chouteau Avenue and south of Papin Street.

The car's owner, a 28-year-old man, told police he was meeting someone he only knew by nickname to sell his car.

Three people ran from the car after it crashed. The teenager was taken into custody with the help of a K9 officer after a footchase.

"The other two individuals made good their escape," police said. "The 16-year-old was conveyed to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the crash and apprehension."
