ST. LOUIS — Two 19-year-old were robbed near Memorial Plaza Saturday afternoon while meeting up with a friend, according to St. Louis police.
A 19-year-old woman flagged down officers at 3:15 p.m. to say she and a 19-year-old man had just been robbed.
They told officers they were in the 100 block of N. 17th Street to meet a friend, who police say ended up being one of the suspects in the robbery.
The woman said they were walking down the steps of a building when their friend-turned-suspect jumped out of the way in anticipation of a door that was about to open. When the door opened, another man jumped out, pointed a gun at the victims and demanded their valuables. They complied and ran away when the gunmen told them to.
The victims weren’t injured.
The suspects are described as being 23 years old. The first man is very thin, about 5-feet 8-inches tall and was wearing a blue velvet suit coat with gold embroidery and skinny jeans. The man holding the gun was wearing a black hoodie and black pants.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
