ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man admitted to recording himself sexually abusing children starting as early as 2013, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's office of the Eastern District of Missouri.
According to the press release, 59-year-old Tracy Jenkins pleaded guilty to one count of production of child sexual abuse material and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. The release said he admitted to sexually abusing five children and recording the abuse.
The release said investigators discovered three other victims. One of the victims was 6 years old when Jenkins started assaulting the child.
The FBI's Crimes Against Children and Human Trafficking Unit was able to identify a victim then contacted the St. Louis FBI office, according to the press release. Agents then located Jenkins, obtained a search warrant and then carried out a search of his home.
The press release said investigators found multiple electronic devices with thousands of files containing child sexual abuse material, including about 200 videos that Jenkins produced.
The press release said Jenkins was with one of his victims the day before the search warrant was executed.
Police said they also found a stolen gun in the home while executing the search warrant. Jenkins is a convicted felon.
Jenkins will be sentenced in December. Prosecutors will ask for a sentence of 40 years in prison as part of the plea deal.
