Florissant woman dies 17 days after she was hit by Mehlville school bus

The woman was pronounced dead 17 days after she was hit by the bus, the St. Louis County Police Department said.

FLORISSANT, Mo. — A woman has died after she was hit by a school bus in St. Louis County on March 13, the county police department said on Tuesday.

The woman, 48-year-old Sarah Oberlohr, was pronounced dead on March 30.

Oberlohr was crossing the street near the intersection of Telegraph and Forder roads when the bus hit her, police said. The bus driver, who remained on scene, told police they did not see the woman crossing the road.

Officials from the Mehlville School District told 5 On Your Side that the bus involved in the incident belonged to the district.

"We are aware the pedestrian involved has died," officials said. "Our condolences are with the family. We will continue to cooperate fully with the police."
