1 dead, another critically injured Sunday in West End shooting

One of the victims was pronounced dead. The other was barely breathing with critical injuries, police said.

ST. LOUIS — One person was killed and another was critically injured in a shooting Sunday night in St. Louis' West End neighborhood.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers received a call just before 10 p.m. about a shooting in the 5800 block of Cabanne Avenue. When they arrived, they found a 22-year-old man suffering multiple puncture wounds inside an apartment in the 900 block of Goodfellow Boulevard. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was identified as Josiah Robinson.

The second man was found on the ground with a gunshot wound to his upper leg on Cabanne Townhome Drive. The 24-year-old was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

The Homicide Division assumed the ongoing investigation.

As of Monday morning, police had not shared the victims' identities or whether they had any suspects.
