ST. LOUIS — A woman was found dead in the Ville neighborhood of St. Louis Monday.
Police say officers found the woman's body near the 4200 block of North Market Street. Officers responded to a call and found the woman's body in the early stages of decomposition. The call was placed at 11:41 a.m.
EMS, firefighters, the medical examiner's office and the homicide division of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene.
Homicide detectives were investigating, pending the official cause of death.
It was not immediately known if there was trauma to the woman's body, or the circumstances that led up to the discovery of the body.
