ST. LOUIS — A woman has been arrested and charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of a man Thursday morning inside a St. Louis home.

St. Louis prosecutors issued charges against 30-year-old Tina Jackson for felony first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

St. Louis police launched the homicide investigation after a man was found stabbed to death Thursday morning. His identity has not been released yet.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers received a call just before 10:40 a.m. Thursday about a "cutting" at a home in the 4500 block of Cleveland Avenue, located just blocks from the Missouri Botanical Garden.

At the scene, officers found a man inside the home suffering from puncture wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a probable cause statement from St. Louis police, Jackson and the victim were romantic partners living together with the children they each shared at the home. The two got into a fight that day and she stabbed the victim in his lower-right-back and upper-right arm. The circumstances that led up to the fight remained unclear.

Responding officers later found a knife in a drawer with dried blood on it that appeared to have been partially cleaned.

Homicide detectives later questioned Jackson and she admitted that she stabbed the man. He was bound to a wheelchair over a prior leg injury at the time of the incident.

Detectives also found out during their investigation that Jackson tried to slash the victim's car tires with a knife in 2021.

According to 5 On Your Side data, the stabbing marks the city's 54th homicide so far this year.
