ST. LOUIS – Charges have been filed against a 27-year-old man after a shooting on the 5200 block of Jamieson Avenue in St. Louis Hills Saturday.
The Circuit Attorney's Office have charged Anthony Altick with first-degree murder, three counts of armed criminal action, and two counts of assault.
According to Schron Jackson, a spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, 27-year-old Darryl Simms was shot in his chest, back, and side around 6:15 a.m. Saturday. Simms was rushed to the hospital and taken into surgery. He later died from his injuries.
A 25-year-old man was shot in his upper torso and was taken to an area hospital where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
Police say a 24-year-old man who was also at the scene was shot in his arm and side. He was taken to the hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition.
According to court documents, four men broke into Altick's apartment complex and began walking up the stairs towards his apartment. Without warning, Altick pointed a handgun out his door and fired multiple shots at the victims. Court documents say at least two of the victims knew Altick and one victim announced who he was, but Altick kept firing.
Altick is being held on a $750,000 cash only bond.
