O'Fallon, MO. -- A bizarre incident at a Residence Inn in O'Fallon, Missouri, began innocently enough at the hotel's breakfast bar, as a man was preparing a waffle early Friday morning. According to police, the man was suddenly attacked from behind by another man, who stabbed him with a pair of scissors in the neck and shoulder,
The victim was transported to an area hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening. The suspect, 39-year-old Vincent Sansone, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and armed criminal action.
In police documents, the victim said he did not know Sansone but did speak with him at the breakfast bar for a few seconds, about the juice being served. He said, the brief conversation was in no way confrontational in nature.
Sansone told police he had "no memory of the incident," but does recall the conversation about the juice.
Sansone is being held on a $100,000 dollar bond.
