Man charged with bank robberies in St. Louis County, suspected of another in Metro East

St. Louis County police said he robbed two banks in less than a month, and Caseyville Police said he robbed one in Caseyville earlier this week.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A St. Louis man is facing charges in connection with two bank robberies in St. Louis County and is suspected of another in the Metro East, police said.

Tyrone Leslie, 38, was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery in connection with bank robberies on Nov. 14 and Dec. 2. Caseyville, Illinois, police said he was caught Monday evening after a high-speed chase in rush hour traffic.

According to a press release from the St. Louis County Police Department, Leslie entered a US Bank at 13001 Tesson Ferry on Nov. 14 and the teller a note saying he was armed and demanded money. The clerk handed over some cash, and Leslie ran out of the bank and fled the area in a red Dodge Durango.

A few weeks later, on Dec. 2, he entered a PNC Bank at 15061 Manchester Road and robbed the bank in the same way. After the teller gave him some money, he got into a red Dodge Durango and sped away.

The Caseyville Police Department said Leslie was caught Monday evening after allegedly robbing a bank in Caseyville. The department said he walked into FCB Bank on North Main Street near closing time and asked to open a bank account. He then went behind one of the teller counters and stole some cash.

He fled police in rush hour traffic before being caught in St. Louis County. 

Leslie is being held on a $300,000, cash-only bond.
