ST. LOUIS — Police arrested six suspects, most of them teenagers, after officers heard gunshots while arriving at a call in St. Louis' Mark Twain I-70 Industrial neighborhood on Tuesday.
The incident happened shortly after 5 p.m. in the 5900 block of Ferris Avenue, according to St. Louis police's Real Time Crime Center.
Around 15 people were armed in front of a residence in the area, police said. Numerous subjects fled the area when officers arrived.
Officers pursued some of the suspects on foot after a shot was fired by one of the suspects. Police later determined the group was not shooting at the officers.
Officers arrested six of the suspects, including:
- A 28-year-old man
- A 24-year-old man
- A 17-year-old boy
- A 16-year-old boy
- Two 13-year-old boys
Each of the arrested suspects were found with a weapon, police said. Five of the weapons were reported as stolen.
