Teen injured by gunfire while on MetroBus early Wednesday morning

A teen was grazed by gunfire from outside a MetroBus early Wednesday morning.

ST. LOUIS — An 18-year-old was hospitalized after she was grazed by gunfire while on a MetroBus early Wednesday morning.

According to a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department news release, the shooting happened at about 12:45 a.m. near the intersection of North Kingshighway and Natural Bridge.

Police said the teen knew the suspected shooter and was on the bus with him shortly before the shooting. Police said the suspected shooter started causing a disturbance on the bus before asking the bus driver to pull the bus over so he could get off.

After getting off the bus near North Kingshighway and Natural Bridge, he pulled out a gun and shot and the driver through the driver's side window. Police said the shot missed the driver but grazed the teen.

She was taken to the hospital for treatment, and the suspected shooter ran off.

Police said the victim was not cooperative in the investigation.
