Teenage boy shot near Spanish Lake apartment complex; no suspects in custody

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A teenage boy was shot and injured in north St. Louis County Thursday afternoon, according to a spokeswoman with the St. Louis County Police Department. 

Sgt. Tracy Panus said the incident happened at about 6 p.m. Thursday, when officers with the department responded to a 911 call regarding an assault on the 11100 block of Ruesta Drive, in the area of a Spanish Lake apartment complex.

Arriving officers found a teenage boy with a non-life-threatening gunshot injury. His age was not disclosed.

Paramedics transported the boy to an area hospital for treatment. It remained unclear what part of his body the gunshot struck. 

There are no suspects in custody in connection to the incident, and there were no further details about what led to the shooting.
