ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A Normandy man was charged after a 2-year-old got ahold of a gun on Sunday and shot themselves.
Prosecutors charged Jeremiah Woods, 19, with first-degree child endangerment.
According to a probable cause statement from the Normandy Police Department, Woods and the toddler were alone in a living room when the child found a gun that Woods had left in reach. The child was shot in the abdomen and seriously injured.
Police did not give further details on the condition of the child.
Woods was being held at the St. Louis County Jail on $75,000 bond.
