St. Louis man admitted to murdering missing woman after Wisconsin arrest, police say

Trenton Ivy reportedly admitted to murdering Marquisha Williams during an interview with Wisconsin police.

ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man recently arrested in Wisconsin is facing murder charges in the suspected death of his ex-girlfriend, the St. Louis County Police Department said.

Marquisha Williams was last seen a week ago in north St. Louis with a man named Trenton Ivy. Officers found and arrested Ivy in Racine County, Wisconsin Friday on unrelated charges.

PREVIOUS COVERAGE:

St. Louis County police said first-degree murder charges were issued for Ivy on Saturday. Ivy was reportedly found in Wisconsin driving Williams' car.

Detectives searched the vehicle after Ivy's arrest. They reportedly found blood and biological material, along with Williams' items, inside of the vehicle.

Ivy told Wisconsin detectives that he had killed Williams in St. Louis during a physical altercation, police said. Ivy then disposed of her body in an unknown location.

“Marquisha was very, very sweet, calm and nice. She loved her kids and we all loved being around her,” said Sandy Bagley, Williams’ aunt.

“My niece was so excited about Christmas and really looking forward to celebrating the holiday with us and her four children,” added Bagley.

Bagley said on the morning of Dec. 20, surveillance video showed her niece and Marquisha’s ex-boyfriend, Trenton Ivy dropped off their 2-year-old son at a daycare in north St. Louis.

“Maybe they were arguing that morning. The baby kept crying and the scene looked a little stressful,” said Bagley.

“We knew something was wrong she is always on time when she picks up her children. We searched in the woods and all along Interstate 55. We just want to find her, lay her to rest and try to start healing. We want Trent to tell us where is Marquisha,” said the Florissant mom’s aunt.

“It’s devastating. They separated earlier this year. She was trying to co-parent with him, but she had started seeing someone else. I will be okay, but it just hurts for the kids. Her baby boy is not the happy child he normally is because he’s crying a lot. He’s missing his mom. We will keep searching for her body,” said Bagley.

St. Louis County police told 5 On Your Side that they are working to extradite Ivy from Wisconsin to Missouri.

Police also said that they are still searching for Williams' body. They came to Staunton on Sunday to search, but their efforts came up empty. Officers said they believed she may have been in this area before she disappeared.

Police said they could not share any more specific information about the investigation.
