Victim identified after body found burned in south St. Louis

Police are investigating if there is a connection to another person's death.

ST. LOUIS — Police on Saturday released the name of a person whose body was found burned Tuesday morning in south St. Louis.

Terrence Taylor, 55, was found dead at 2:17 a.m. 

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, his body was in an alleyway in the 3200 block of Oregon Avenue, located in the city's Benton Park West neighborhood. Responding officers also put out several small fires at the scene.

Police said they believe the death was intentional, and a homicide investigation was ongoing. The Bomb and Arson Unit were also called to the scene. 

Police are investigating if Taylor's death is linked to the death of another person who was found shot and then burned in the Columbia Bottom Conservation Area Tuesday afternoon.

Police asked anyone with information to call the Homicide Division directly at 314-444-5371. Someone with a tip who wanted to remain anonymous and was interested in a reward could contact CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
