Police identify woman found shot to death in Elsberry motel room

Police found a woman in her late twenties dead in a motel room under what they called suspicious circumstances.

ELSBERRY, Mo. — The Major Case Squad is investigating after a woman was found dead in a motel in Elsberry, Missouri, Sunday morning.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department was called to the Elsberry Motel and Lodge on the 3400 block at around 10 a.m. When they arrived, they found 29-year-old Megan M. Clark dead with several gunshot wounds in a motel room under what they called suspicious circumstances.

In a Monday morning press release, the Major Case Squad said it does not appear to be random. They're actively interviewing witnesses and people close to the victim.
