Woman in critical condition after shooting in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS — An investigation is underway after a woman was shot early Tuesday morning in north St. Louis.

It happened around 2 a.m. near the edge of the Mark Twain neighborhood at the intersection of W. Florissant Avenue and Shreve Avenue.

According to the police report, the woman was shot in the abdomen. She was transported to a hospital where she’s listed in critical condition.

No other details have been made available.

The shooting comes after it was a violent weekend in the City of St. Louis. There were nine shootings that left six people dead and seven people injured between April 17 and 19.
