Man facing charges after woman was shot and killed following argument about child support

The mom of two was killed when two shots were fired into her home on Monday.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A man is facing charges in connection to the killing of a St. Louis County woman.

On Tuesday, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Anthony Farr, 26, with one count of first-degree murder, one count of unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of armed criminal action in connection to Kanika Martin’s death.

According to court documents, on Nov. 11, Farr went over to Martin’s and got into an argument with her. During the argument, Martin reaffirmed to Farr that he was going to have to pay child support for the child they had together. Martin also had another child.

Farr then left and stood outside where they continued to argue on the phone.

Shortly after the two got off the phone, two shots were fired into the home through the front living room window. Both shots hit Martin and she died on the couch, according to court documents.

Farr left the scene and was arrested hours later at his home in Ferguson. He’s being held on no bond.
