ST. LOUIS — The woman who was fatally shot in the head Friday evening in north St. Louis has been identified Tuesday afternoon.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said the shooting happened shortly before 5 p.m. at the 1700 block of North Vandeventer and Cote Brillante avenues, near the border of the city's Jeff-Vander-Lou and Greater Ville neighborhoods.
Responding officers found a woman shot in the head. She was not conscious or breathing.
On Tuesday, police identified her as 44-year-old Tyra Pace from north St. Louis.
No further information on possible suspects or the circumstances that led up to the shooting was immediately available.
Detectives with the department's homicide division assumed the investigation.
The woman's death is the 21st homicide of 2024 in St. Louis.
