O'FALLON, Mo. — A man has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 29-year-old O’Fallon, Missouri, woman.
O’Fallon police officers responded to a 911 call in 200 block of Casalon Parkway at 7:55 p.m. Saturday. They found a 29-year-old woman who had been shot. Officers and paramedics worked to save her life, but she died from her injuries.
Sunday afternoon police identified her as Catherine Rhodes.
The investigation led police to 32-year-old Jamal A. Rhodes.
Prosecutors at the St. Charles county Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Rhodes with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and felon in possession of a firearm.
His bond was set at $500,000.
Police released the booking photo for Jamal Rhodes Monday morning.
The police department has not released any further details about the murder, including motive and how the victim and suspect knew each other. No one else is wanted in the case, police added.
