ST. LOUIS — Missouri drivers are some of the worst when it comes to drinking and driving accidents during the Fourth of July holiday.
From 2015-2017 there were 20 fatal crashes that involved 33 drivers, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Of the 33 drivers, nearly 80 percent were impaired. That’s the second highest percentage of impaired drivers involved in fatal Fourth of July crashes in the country.
During that time in Illinois, there were only 13 fatal crashes where 30 percent of drivers involved were intoxicated.
Montana only had five fatal crashes, involving five impaired drivers.
