SIUE announces in-state tuition increase

In-state students at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville(SIUE) will be paying more for their educations in the 2016-17 Academic Year.

On Thursday, the Southern Illinois University Board of Trustees approved a tuition increase for new, full-time, in-state students beginning in the 2016 fall semester, a press release from the university said. The increase for undergraduates(15 credit hours for full-time) will be $690 and $282 for graduate students(12 credit hours for full-time).

According to the release, tuition for full undergraduates will rise from $7,662 to $8,352 and tuition for graduate students will rise from $7,038 to $7,320. The tuition will remain the same for students currently enrolled in the university. Tuition will also remain the same for students in both the School of Dental Medicine and School of Pharmacy.

SIUE allows students from Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Wisconsin to qualify for in-state tuition.
