ST. LOUIS — Saint Louis Zoo is giving visitors a chance to embark on virtual expeditions.

The zoo now offers the Wild Explorer experience, a virtual reality theater that features animated education content on a motion-platform experience.

On Facebook, the zoo says guests can get a "360-degree view of animal habitats all around the world," and that the motion-platform pods let guests "feel the rumble of a wildebeest herd or the steps of a silverback gorilla walking through the rainforest."

The two films currently playing are Gorilla Trek and The Great Migration.

The price is $5.95 for members, and $7.95 for non-members. Guests must be at least 40 inches tall to ride.

The zoo says Wild Explorer is located next to Ice Cream Oasis and across from the Sea Lion Sound arena. That's in the Lakeside Crossing section of the park.
