ST LOUIS- From ice cream cones to hot dogs, you've probably heard just about everything made its debut at the World's Fair in St. Louis.
And this week, you have a chance to separate fact from fiction and get the real scoop.
The Missouri History Museum is showcasing all of those famous inventions on Wednesday at 10:30 am in the Lee Auditorium.
'The Famous Firsts of St. Louis' program will be hosted by local author Diane Rademacher. Her book, 'Famous Firsts of St. Louis' is available online.
Some of the highlights will include the legendary story about an ice cream vendor at the 1904 Fair who ran out of plates--so he borrowed some light waffles from a food stand next door and the rest his history.
There's a similar origin story for the world's first hot dog.

And that's not all--far from it---cotton candy, which they called fairy floss, also made its American debut at the World Exposition in Forest Park.
