HOUSTON — Golden State Warriors’ forward Kevin Durant is battling to get his team through the Western Conference semi-finals in the NBA Playoffs right now.
But the Warriors couldn’t pull it off Monday night in Game 4, losing to the Rockets 112-108 to make it an even series at 2-2.
Although, the two-time Finals MVP might have been a little distracted during the game due to an apparent New York Knicks fan constantly chanting “New York Knicks!"
With Durant becoming a free agent after this season, the fan found a way to get the public’s attention by increasing the topic on whether or not the Knicks are on Durant’s radar for next year.
Dime Magazine posted the video on Twitter in the middle of the third quarter with the caption stating "Alright Houston, which one of you is chanting 'New York Knicks' at Kevin Durant??" with a laughing emoji...
And then the relentless cheering from the fan enabled TNT broadcaster Reggie Miller to have some fun on the Durant free agency discussion.
Miller got a kick out of the fan chanting "New York Knicks! Go the East Coast!" and said, "Does he know something that we don't know Kevin? Is this breaking news?"
Regardless if Durant was distracted by the heckling, he still had 34 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
And oddly enough, Monday, May 6 was also exact date of the five-year anniversary of Durant's iconic MVP speech.
ESPN shared his speech on Twitter which is probably one of the most memorable MVP speeches of all time.
It will be interesting to see where Durant lands next season.
Whether he leaves the Warriors to carve his own path or re-signs with the winning team, right now he has to solely focus on defeating the Rockets to get to the Western Conference Finals.
The Warriors face the Rockets at home in Game 5 on Wednesday, May 8.
