First Amazon center in Missouri officially open

Amazon's fulfillment center in St. Peters opens its doors while offering many jobs.

ST. PETERS, Mo. — Amazon’s first fulfillment center in Missouri officially opened on Sunday, July 21 in St. Peters. 

The 855,000 square foot state-of-the-art center will be employing 1,500 people and will start hiring on July 28. 

The site’s leadership team kicked things off with a focus on building a family atmosphere. 

The new team was treated to an orange-carpet welcome which included Louie, the Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues mascot and a world-famous Budweiser Clydesdale.

The first item received into inventory at the fulfillment center was a Classic Colander by KitchenAid.

Starting on day one, employees will receive Amazon’s $15 hourly minimum wage and healthcare benefits.

There are still positions available at the St. Peters fulfillment center located in the Premier 370 Business Park at Highway 370 and Truman Road.
