MISSOURI, USA — St. Louis County surpassed 1,000 cases, and Missouri has more than 2,800 cases as the numbers in Missouri continue to increase.
According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the state has 2,722 cases and 39 deaths, but local numbers reported later in the day brought the totals to more than 2,800 cases.
The number of deaths does not include a death in St. Louis County, two deaths in both St. Charles and Jefferson counties and six deaths in St. Louis, which means there have been 50 deaths in the state.
According to the state numbers, St. Louis County has 1,033 cases. St. Louis City has the second most cases at 440, less than half that of St. Louis County.
In the St. Louis Area, 545 people are being treated at hospitals that are a part of the St. Louis Metropolitan Pandemic Task Force, an increase of 77 patients. Those hospitals include the BJC, Mercy and SSM hospital systems as well as St. Luke's. The task force said 224 of those people are in the ICU — an increase of 60 — and 172 of them are on ventilators — an increase of 33.
