ST. LOUIS — Everyone can't stop talking about the missed call by the four-officials in Wednesday night's game in St. Louis.
FanDuel Sportsbook, a legal online betting site for all major sports, posted on their Twitter account that they were going to refund everyone who bet money on the Blues due to the ridiculous call.
"We have to hand it to the Sharks, they're unwavering grit made for a thrilling Game 3 finish. However, due to the controversial nature of San Jose's OT winner, we're refunding all St. Louis ML bets from last night's game," FanDuel said.
In overtime of Game 3, Timo Meier from the Sharks clearly hit the puck with his hand in mid-air to help his teammates gain possession to score the game-winning goal.
While officials were reviewing the play, St. Louis fans were cheering in the stands after seeing the play was an obvious hand pass on the big screen.
However, the officials did not overrule the Sharks' goal and the Blues were hosed in Game 3.
Thousands of St. Louis and NHL fans have been posting all over social media with how disgusted they are with the call.
But at least FanDuel is gaining some positive attraction with returning some money back to sports gamblers.
It will be interesting to see how Game 4 pans out on Friday, May 17.
