10 teams now assessing flooding damage across Missouri

Ten teams were deployed across the state Wednesday to assess flooding damage to homes, schools, roads and property so Governor Eric Greitens can properly apply for aid as a federal disaster, the governor said Wednesday.

According to a press release from the Missouri Department of Public Safety, there will individual and public assistance teams made up of local, state and federal disaster specialists.

While the Individual Assistance teams will be assessing damage to homes and personal property, they will not visit every house. Their goal is to get an overview of damage.

Public Assistance teams will assess damage to public infrastructure, including roads, bridges and schools.
