JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. – A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection to a De Soto man’s murder.
Andrew Britton was found by Jefferson County police Wednesday evening. According to police, Britton told someone he had caused harm to someone.
The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis assisted in the investigation.
On Thursday, a warrant was obtained for Andrew Britton from the 23rd Judicial Circuit Court for first-degree murder and armed criminal action with no bond.
According to charges, he beat Randy Sitze with an item, possibly a candle holder until he believed he was brain dead. When he realized he was still breathing he stabbed him in the neck.
Sitze was found dead at a home on West Lakeview Drive near Summerset Lake on Jan. 11.
