ST. LOUIS — Four people were killed and one was injured in separate shootings in the St. Louis area this weekend.
The first shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. at N. 9th Street and O’Fallon Street. An 11-year-old was playing basketball when he heard gunshots and felt pain in his leg.
The second shooting happened around 1 a.m. near MLK Drive and Cora.
Police were called to the area for a shooting and found two victims lying on the ground with gunshot wounds.
Lonnie Bailey, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene. Lazarus Baber, 41, was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
Police believe the two men got into an argument when leaving a business and it escalated into them exchanging gunfire.
In the third shooting, a man was shot in the head near Hamilton and Cote Brilliante just before 3 a.m. He died from his injuries.
In the fourth shooting, police were called to the Pear Tree Apartments in St. Ann around 7:45 a.m. for multiple shots being fired.
Police said the victim fell out of a car at the intersection near Marriott St. Louis Airport hotel.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other details have been released.
