ST. LOUIS – Four children have been fatally shot within four days in the City of St. Louis.
The latest, a 16-year-old girl was found with a gunshot wound to her head early Wednesday morning in the Greater Ville neighborhood. Police responded to the 4400 block of Lexington Avenue around 1:25 a.m. where Myiesha Cannon was found. Police said they’re investigating her death as suspicious.
Monday night, an 11-year-old girl was found shot to death in the Carr Square neighborhood. Charnija Keys was found with a gunshot wound to her head. Police are investigating her death as suspicious.
On Sunday night, a 3-year-old girl was shot and killed in a drive-by in St. Louis' Mount Pleasant neighborhood. A 6-year-old was also injured in the shooting. Three-year-old Kenndei Powell died at the hospital. Police said the shooting happened around 8:35 p.m. in the 4600 block of Michigan Avenue. No one has been taken into custody in connection to the drive-by.
Police responded to Red Bud Avenue and Margaretta Avenue around 10:40 p.m. where Jashon Johnson was found with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
