JENNINGS, Mo. — St. Louis County Police Department announced that they have found two children previously reported missing Saturday afternoon.
Jennings police responded to a call about a stolen car with two children inside on the 7100 block of Idlewild in Jennings around 3:30 p.m.
Police said the car was running at the time of the abduction.
Officers describe the victims as a 7-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl. The boy was found quickly after the theft in Jennings and the girl was found in St. Louis city later that same day, according to the police statement.
The car, a dark Mitsubishi Outlander, is still missing, police said. The police statement called the incident a "crime of opportunity."
The health status of the children has not been released.
Police have not provided any more information at this time.
