Woman who broke leg one of many attendees criticizing 'Jingle!' event at CarShield Field

O'FALLON, Mo. — Just three days after opening inside CarShield Field, there are calls for the Jingle! Holiday St. Louis pop-up experience to be shut down.

The Missouri Attorney General's Office launched an investigation into multiple complaints about safety concerns that sent at least one woman to the hospital.

When Abby Sroka heard about the first-ever Jingle! Holiday pop-up at Car Shield Field, she had no problem shelling out $260 for four tickets.

"I was just trying to find something fun to do with my kids,” Abby Sroka said. "We really didn't get to see much of it because we were only there about 5 minutes.”

Sroka said her sons took one look at the snow tube and got scared, so she decided to show them it was safe.

"The lanes were lined in board and that's what I caught my foot on,” Sroka said. “The board was up higher, underneath the tube, and when I went down my foot caught the wood and that's what broke my leg."

Citing safety concerns, a number of people told 5 on Your Side they requested a refund, only to receive this response from customer service.

"'All sales are final,'” Guarnieri said she was told. “'Don't know what to tell you.'"

According to Sarah Wetzel with the Better Business Bureau, some consumers may have an option to get their money back.

"Contact the method of payment,” Wetzel said. “If it was a credit card, contact the credit card company. We're hearing at BBB that people paid for something and didn't get what they paid for. If you let the credit card company know you didn't get what you paid for you can dispute that and hopefully get your money back."

"They said they would refund all of the money for my groups tickets because of what happened,” Sroka said. “I've yet to see that. I would at least like my medical bills paid. I don't see how they can still stay going."

In a statement, Jingle acknowledged that there were areas for improvement and said they are actively implementing changes to ensure that every guest has an exceptional experience.
