MISSOURI, USA — Ameren Missouri's 1.2 million customers can expect to see significantly higher electric bills if the utility company's rate hike proposal is approved.
According to the Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC), Ameren Missouri requested an approximately 15.49% electric rate increase, which would total about $446 million. For the average residential customer, the increase would be about $17.45 per monthly bill, or about 15.77%.
The PSC is giving customers a chance to comment and learn more about the proposal at at series of public hearings, with in-person and virtual options, beginning on Jan. 21. Each meeting will begin with public information and a question-and-answer question followed by public testimony.
For the most relevant information, the PSC recommended customers attend a hearing at a location closest to their service area.
