ST. LOUIS — Animal shelters across the county and right here in St. Louis are struggling with an influx of animals, but the Bissell Pet Foundation is trying to ease that burden.
On Wednesday, the Bissell Pet Foundation launched its biggest Empty the Shelters adoption event with more than 400 organizations across the country. As part of the event, most of the adoption fees will be covered for fully vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered pets.
"Thanks to [Bissell Pet Foundation], adopters pay no more than $50 to adopt their new best friend who comes home spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped," the Empty the Shelters page said.
Here are some of the local shelters participating in the event.
Thanks to our friends BISSELL Pet Foundation and Cathy Bissell, all pets 6 months and older have $25 adoption fees until May 15.
CARE STL is grateful for the sponsorship of BISSELL Pet Foundation and is happy to announce that we are participating in the Spring National Empty the Shelters adoption event from May 1sto 15. The graphic announcing CARE's participation said fees are waived during the event.
Dogs 6 months and older have a fee of only $50 and all cats/kittens have a fee of only $25...adopt a second cat/kitten for free.
Adoption fees for all adult cats and dogs residing at the shelter will be reduced to $25, in partnership with the BISSELL Pet Foundation!
